Knickerbocker Mansion Harvest Festival
When: Sat, Sep 26 until Sun, Sep 27, 8:00am to 4:00pm
Where: Knickerbocker Mansion
The Knickerbocker Mansion’s Harvest Festival will be held September 26 and 27 from 8:00 to 4:00pm. A historical presentation will be at 11:00am, 1:00 and 3:00pm. The Hudson River Ramble Devil’s Chimney Walk will start at 10:00am & 1:00pm. The Devil’s Chimney Walk is a 4.2 mile round trip hike through Schaghticoke’s historic Vale of Peace (the site of an historic Nativeamerican village and first Schaghticoke settlement) then along the Hoosick River to a Nativeamerican shrine named Devil’s Chimney. During the hike the guide will point out important historic sites and geographic features, (hiking boots required). There will be a pancake breakfast ($6.00) from 8:00 to 11:00am and a Chicken and Biscuit Dinner ($10.00) from Noon to 4:00pm. No reservations are needed unless the group is 8 or more. Mansion and Cemetery tours, Bake Sale, Charlotte’s Chop, Snack Bar and Harvest produce will be available throughout the day. Fall Foliage Road Rallye

Where: Sand Lake Center for the Arts, 2880 NY 43, Averill Park
Discover the richness of the Rensselaer Plateau on a drive to some of its special attractions. Enjoy the forested beauty of the Plateau in the foliage season. The Road Rallye will take you to nine points of interest, including the Grafton Peace Pagoda, the Dickinson Hill Fire Tower and two State Parks. The Road Rallye begins at a time of your choosing, between 9:30am and 1pm at the Sand Lake Center for the Arts. There you will sign-in, receive a map with the suggested route and driving directions, along with short descriptions of the attractions you’ll visit. Your tax-deductible contribution of $25 per car will benefit the programs of the Rensselaer Plateau Alliance. The driving time for the entire Rallye route is estimated to be 2 hours and 30 minutes, to which you must add the time you will be at each destination. Spend a part or most of the day. Bring a picnic if you like; some of your destinations have picnic tables. The Rallye ends with a wine and lemonade celebration overlooking the Plateau at the home of an RPA Board Member.

Color Me Rad 5K – Saratoga Springs / Albany

2015 Pride Center Gala

The event kicks off at 12 p.m. with the traditional trick-or-treat at many mall merchants and throughout the common area. Then, B95.5 finishes with a cool costume contest at 2 p.m. on the lower level near Apple. Every participant will receive a prize. A Crossgates Mall Gift Card will be awarded to the most original, the cutest and the scariest costume of each age group, and also to the best family/group costume!
