Born in Troy, Nina Pattison (R.I.P. 1928-2019) was a pianist, gardener (creating the Annual Hidden Garden Tour), & former city council member. She has been a central community member, resident, avid supporter & bright light in Downtown Troy. Her most recent residence was at The Conservatory on 3rd Street, directly across from Barker Park. She would keep an eye on planter beds & low hanging branches, keeping the President of ‘Friends of Barker Park’ up-to-date. One would find Nina sitting, reading & in conversation with other park users, always with her long-haired dachshund, Rosie, by her side.
The Fence Show got its name when members’ artwork was exhibited on the iron fence surrounding Washington Park in Troy, the original location of the Arts Center. Last year we accepted over 400 pieces, including paintings, drawings, photography, fiber arts, stained glass, and sculpture.
