Savor Summer! Come meet a newt, do yoga on the beach, paint or run a 5k at your local state parks…
 
ONGOING through Summer! Saturday, July 4-Saturday, August 22: Yoga on the Beach! 9:30-10:30. Stretch and relax under the beauty of the Grafton sky!  Drop-in classes offered every Saturday.  Bring a towel and/or yoga mat and go to the far end of the beach, opposite side from the boat docks to meet instructor Julie Harrell.  Please arrive a few minutes early so you don’t interrupt class.  Sign-in at ticket booth is required and class fee is $12/class. *Please note 7/18 class will be held on Deerfield lawn due to Triathlons in beach area.
 
Saturday, July 18th– Jump, Slither, & Swim! At 3pm at Cherry Plain. Meet some local reptiles and amphibians with naturalist Jorel Spain.  Program set up above beach.
 
Saturday, July 18th- Skyhigh Triathlons at Grafton Lakes State Park. 7am Adult Triathlon and 11am for Youth. Challenge yourself!  For more information, visit www.skyhighadventures.com.
 
Friday, July 24th-  Summer Fun and Fitness Day from 1:30-3pm. Get the kids active in the park! Free program includes obstacles courses, nature hike, and other outdoor fun. Pre-register for a tshirt by calling Lillian Porteus by July 17th: 270-2685.
Friday, July 24th-  Star Watch at Grafton Lakes State Park at 8:30pm.  Enter via winter entrance on Long Pond Road and follow signs to program. Cloudy skies may cancel—call Bernard to confirm: 658-9144
 
Saturday, July 25th: Watercolor Waterscapes at 10:30am at Cherry Plain State Park- Create your own masterpiece to take home with you at this intro to watercolor painting workshop. Paints and paper provided. Beginners are welcome!
 
AUGUST
Saturday, August 1st– Jump, Slither, & Swim at 11am at Grafton Lakes. Meet some local reptiles and amphibians with naturalist Jorel Spain.  Program set up at tent above beach.
 
Saturday, August 1st– Nature Mandalas at Cherry Plain State Park at 3:30pm. Explore the colors and shapes of nature by creating Mandalas, a circular design that can be made out of anything you find.
 
Saturday, August 8th– Wonderful Wind at 3:30pm at Cherry Plain State Park– This program will “blow you away!”  Join us to celebrate wind with fun activities by Cherry Plain’s beach.  
Sunday, August 9th– 30th Annual Run for the Roses 5k at 9am. Benefits the Grafton Community Library. Nature Walk at 8am and Kids Fun Run at 10am. Call library for information: 279-0580.

Our Beach Nature Center is open Friday-Tuesday from 12-2.  Meet some critters, explore another world under the microscopes, or make tracks in our wildlife detective sandbox!
 
Swimming is open daily from 10am-6pm at Grafton Lakes State Park. Gate fees are $8/vehicle through Labor Day. Camping and swimming are open at Cherry Plain State Park on weekends only until July, then daily through Labor Day. Cherry Plain gate fees are $7/vehicle. Bennington Battlefield is open to the public daily from 10-7.

The Friends of Grafton Lakes State Park also sponsor free hikes and paddles on a weekly basis.
