Event Highlights of the Upcoming Weekend

April 17 – Wednesday
Fort Montgomery State Historic Site
Opens for the Season Museum and visitor center will be open Wednesday through Sunday through October. Tour the remains of the 14-acre fortification overlooking the Hudson. Special events start with Colonial Cooking on April 27. 9am-5pm.

April 20 – Saturday
Spring Artists Reception
Celebrate the season opening of this well-respected art venue and the opening of their spring exhibit featuring the works of over 25 artists. A special viewing of one the custom motorcycles made by Paul Cox in his new space in Port Jervis will also be exhibited. In addition, the Outdoor Club of Port Jervis will be on hand to introduce you to the watershed trails and recreation areas. 6-9pm. UpFront Exhibition Space, Port Jervis.

April 19 & 20 – Friday & Saturday
Theater: “Three Sisters”
The SUNY Orange Apprentice Players present Anton Chekhov’s “Three Sisters,” a rare, funny drama about the decay of the privileged class in Russia and the search for a purpose in a rapidly evolving world. Tickets required. Box office opens one hour before curtain time. 7:30pm. William & Helen Richards Theatre at Orange Hall, Middletown.

April 20 – Saturday
Spring Craft Fun Day & Egg Hunt
Enjoy horsey themed games, printing flowers with horseshoes, making mini egg baskets, Easter candy trinket cans and more. Have an egg hunt in the courtyard and finish with a ride on the Harness Racing 3-D Simulator. $5 per child; parents are free! 11am-1pm. Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame, Goshen.

April 20 – Saturday
Spring Egg Hunt at Thomas Bull Memorial Park
Children ages 7 and younger are welcome to attend the free event. Hunt area will be divided into separate sections by age groups, including a wheelchair-accessible section for children with disabilities. Prizes will be awarded for special gold eggs found and each child will receive a bag of candy. Fee for Inflatable Jump Castle and Ice Cream Truck. (Raindate: Sunday April 21 at 1pm.) 11am-12:30pm. April 20 – Saturday
2019 Grand Opening Party
Enjoy tastings, raffles, live music and more while relishing the great view from the rooftop bar overlooking the Hudson River. Party starts at 4pm. Giveaways and tastings from 6-8pm. Select items from the Zulu Time bar menu will be available. Zulu Time at The Thayer Hotel, West Point.

April 20 – Saturday
A Revolutionary Camp
By candlelight, experience military drills, musket firings and other period activities done at the at the huts, owned by the Town of New Windsor, on the west side of Route 300 and on the north side of Causeway Road. 7-9:30pm. Last Encampment of the Continental Army, New Windsor.
