Event Highlights of the Upcoming Weekend

March 20 – Wednesday
First Day of Spring Full Moon Walk
Celebrate the first day of spring and the last full moon of the winter season! Two seasons intersect on this special day when frogs will be singing while winter is still holding onto the air and earth. The March full moon is often called the Sap Moon by Native Americans; this time of year heralds the sugaring season when sap begins to flow in maple trees and the ground softens enough for earthworms to reappear, inviting the return of robins. Dress appropriately for weather conditions. 7-8:30pm. Outdoor Discovery Center at Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, Cornwall.

March 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 & 31 – Fri, Sat & Sun
The Wizard of Oz – A Contemporary Ballet
Take the journey over the rainbow and down the yellow brick road with the New Rose Theatre and its contemporary ballet of The Wizard of Oz. Based on the work of L. Frank Baum, director/choreographer Dee Tabitha Wright weaves this American classic into her own version of the land of Oz told with dance and pantomime. Fridays at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 3pm & 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:00pm. The New Rose Theatre, Walden.

March 23 – Saturday
