Friday, June 23rd —Outdoor Tykes: Things with Wings! At 10:30am. Bring your young explorers to the park to learn about the incredible creatures flying through the air. Come look at feathers, measure your wingspan, and search for things with wings! We will meet at the Shaver Pond Nature Center at 10:30am to play games and discover winged ones. Saturday, July 1st—Four Legged Friend Hike at 10am. Take a walk with your adventurous doggie pal along the Shaver Pond trail with local hikers Stevie and her dog Bulla. Outing is free with gate fee of $8/car. Meets in main parking lot on beach sidewalk.
Tuesday, July 4th– Independence Day Sand Sculpture Contest at 12pm. Show your creative side in the sand! Prizes for all with an extra goodie for best in category: Kids, Family, Teen and Adult groups welcome. Judging at 2pm and Awards at 3pm.
Friday, July 7th– Family Movie Night on the Beach at 8:45pm. Animal lovers will love this movie! Free event if you enter after gate closes at 5. No reservations required. Rain date: July 8th.
Saturday, July 8th– Yoga on the Beach at 9:30am. Rise and shine at Grafton for a stretch under the summer sun. We will offer a sampling of fitness programs at the beach this summer so come try yoga out for $5! Pay deposit of $8 gate fee and it will be refunded if you leave after program or stay for the day! Saturday, July 10th-August 18, 2017: Sign up for a Two-Week Learn to Swim Session! Call the park for details. Class is free and taught by Grafton lifeguards. Morning and evening sessions available. Register: 279-1155
July 14th Outdoor Tykes: Colors of Nature at 10:30am. Young PreK-aged explorers are invited to the park to learn about the beautiful colors found in nature! We will search for all different colors and patterns we can find outside and play matching games. Meets at the Shaver Pond Nature Center at 10:30am to start exploring the colorful world around us. Saturday, July 15th– Skyhigh Off-RoadTriathlon at 7am. Swim 1K, Bike 20K, Run 6K! Skyhigh also offers a Kids Triathlon at 11am. Register at skyhighadventures.com.
Friday, July 21st—July Star Watch at 9pm. Join Albany Area Amateur Astronomers for a free tour of the night sky. Telescopes provided. Cloudy skies may cancel event so call 279-1155 the day of to confirm. Meets at Deerfield Pavilion.
