From the CEO, Elizabeth Reiss:
“All sorts of studies abound on how making art can reduce stress. Art can give voice to the unheard, it can amplify just causes, and it can let our imagination wander freely. The action of making art, and working with materials, often in repetition, can help us connect to our bodies and soothe our souls. Our classes offer respite from the day to day world, and let us connect with the most important person in our lives – ourselves. I am a professional, a wife, a mother, and a volunteer, and I know that if I don’t take care of myself I will not be able to sustain the roles I play every day. I need to take time to look at art, make art, and play with art. The Arts Center strives to create experiences and opportunities for all of us to make art part of our everyday lives. Our studio classes have been the backbone of the Arts Center’s programming, and we are proud to offer the classes and camps listed in this catalog…”
