The Walkway Marathon Returns

The Walkway Over the Hudson and Dutchess County host TheWalkway Marathon on June 10 & 11. On Sunday, the world’s longest elevated pedestrian park hosts 3 USTAF certified races: The Walkway Marathon and Half Marathon, each of which crosses the Hudson, and the College to College 5K. On Saturday, see the smiles at the #ThinkDIFFERENTLY Dash, a one-mile run for people with physical and developmental disabilities.

Restaurant, “The Amsterdam”

The Amsterdam will open in Rhinebeck in the former Asher House. This multi-level Dutch Colonial was renovated using wood and stones from the site. Proprietor, Howard Jacobs, makes use of simple décor in the dining room, adding sophisticated cuisine and superior cocktails. The backyard will boast a grill and bocce court after Memorial Day.

Watch James Beard Award-nominee, Chef Sara Lukasiewicz, at work in the big open kitchen. Known for her nose-to-tail butchery and house-made charcuterie, she’ll incorporate locally sourced items such as ramps and cheese. General Manager, Jeff Turok, protégé of NYC restaurateur, Danny Meyer, brings his expertise in wine and spirits, and you’ll admire the craft beer selection.
