The pipes, the pipes are calling! The 22nd Dutchess County St. Patrick’s Parade is set for Saturday, March 4th. The parade kicks off at 1 pm from the corner of West Main and Delavergne Avenue, and winds through the Village of Wappingers Falls. Bring the kids, and enjoy greeting old friends and making new ones, with more than 3,000 participants and 10,000 spectators! See floats big and small, pipes and drums, classic cars, firefighters and police, and so many marchers, from the Hibernians & Scottish Society to scouts and sports clubs. Do you know a rising young culinary star? Here’s a chance for children aged 6-9 to learn in the kitchen with Chopped Champion Chef, Dafna Mizrahi of Monte’s Local Kitchen & Tap Room in Amenia. This 7-week program focuses on kitchen safety, knife skills, reading and understanding product labels, while supporting area farms and gardens. School-aged chefs enjoy making their own culinary creations with their favorite local, in-season ingredients. The kids learn how to style their dishes, write recipes, and even create their own cookbook. The 1½ hour sessions start on Feb. 25th for the cost of $210 per child.
