Bing Futch

Sand Lake Center for the Arts once again presents Bing Futch back on stage, May 16 at 7:30 pm. Using Appalachian mountain dulcimer, Native American flute, ukulele, drums and electronic effects, Futch deftly navigates the varied waters of traditional and modern Americana with passion, wit and a genuinely huge heart for sharing music with a crowd.  Along with the concert, Bing will be offering 2 workshops, Native American Flute Playing and Mountain Dulcimer Master Class, held that same afternoon at Sand Lake Town Hall..  To kick off the concert will be Our Stars a’Rising opener, the group “KeBam, members of The Brunswick Steel Drummers,” made up of talented students from Tamarac School.   To learn more information or make reservations for the workshops go tohttp://bingfutch.com/slca/.  To make reservations for the concert go to slca-ctp.org or call the Center at (518)674-2007.  Concert Tickets are $16. Tom Chapin

Sand Lake Center for the Arts is proud to bring you “Tom Chapin” live on stage Sunday, May 17 at 2 pm.  Tom Chapin’s performances appeal to all ages, his songs tell the stories of our times.  Chapin presents a lively, interactive and fun-filled performance which engages the hearts, minds and imaginations of young listeners. His witty, life-affirming original songs convey positive messages about family, good food and the green earth.  Lend your voice, sing a round, learn a song in sign language and discover the music of a didjeridoo.  In a career that spans five decades, 24 recordings and three Grammy awards, the multi-talented singer-songwriter-guitarist has covered an incredible amount of creative ground.  In addition to his work as a recording artist and concert performer, Chapin has acted on Broadway, as well as working extensively in television, radio and films.
